Salida Council for the Arts co-hosts with Salida Arts & Culture another Creative Mixer. Any artists or creatives working in all genres are encouraged to attend and meet like-minded people. This month’s mixer will feature violinist Aubrea Alford for entertainment during the event.

This month’s exhibition features the works from visual artist Roberta Smith and poet Barbara Ford in the Paquette Gallery throughout the month of May.

In Pursuit of Happenstance by Barbara Ford and Roberta Smith

Two artists, two languages, one pursuit: visual artist Roberta Smith and poet Barbara Ford have married their worlds and created a third, called Happenstance, home to a treasure chest of images in interaction with words as counterpart and counterpoint.

The book pairs 43 full color images with 32 poems, resulting in a 68-page storybook peppered with allegories, tall tales, elegies, and far more questions than answers. Enter the world of Happenstance and stay as long as you like. All are welcome!
