Creative Mixer & Artist Reception

Salida Council for the Arts hosts another Creative Mixer, and any artists or creatives working in all genres are encouraged to attend and meet like-minded people, to share influences and news, to soak up fresh ideas, and to be inspired by the energy that Salida instills through all of its creatives. This month’s mixer will feature guitarist/singer Bobby Gulley for entertainment during the event.
This month’s show features a retrospective of unseen works from artist Gene Diodato in the Paquette Gallery throughout the month of February.
This month’s artist exhibition features more of the works of Eugene (Gene) Diodato Jr. (1935-2013), who painted daily on one of his favorite subjects — the outdoors. The final thirty-five years of his life he spent painting said “subject” in the Upper Arkansas River Valley near Salida. Diodato’s works on canvas are often referred to as ‘having a quality of gentleness’ as he skillfully melds what he observed between the interplay of light, color and nature.
