The Noteables & You’ve Got Male

May 5, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Noteables and You’ve Got Male will present their spring concert series, “Embrace the Unknown.” Under the direction of Linda Taylor, the women’s and men’s choruses will perform a wide variety of songs that challenge us to set aside our fears, embrace the unknown and take the road less traveled.

Suggested donation of $10 to help pay for the cost of music, publicity and the groups’ scholarship fund. For more information, call Linda Taylor at 539-2428 or visit salidasings.org.

The Noteables will welcome in the spring season with the joyful madrigal “Spring Song”. Other songs include Stephen Sondheim’s “Everybody Says Don’t” and Josh Groban’s song of gratitude,“The Mystery of Your Gift”. “Big Sky” addresses the yearning to find our place in the natural world and “One For the Altos” is a playful tribute to altos.

You’ve Got Male will continue with “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables, the familiar Irish air, “Danny Boy” and a hilarious folk tale about two toads who fall into a bowl of cream and struggle to find a
way out.

The two choruses will join together to sing six songs including Harry Belafonte’s, “Turn the World Around” which will set the audience on fire with its calypso beat, Simon and Garfunkel’s “Feelin’ Groovy” and a
partner version of “Lean On Me” and “We Shall Overcome”. “Give Us Hope” is a plea from the children to help them set their course for the future and “Journey On” describes the journey we must all take to make a difference in our world.

Featured are Brenda Covert on flute and Oso Blanco on drums and percussion.
