About the Manhattan Short Film Festival
Over 100,000 Film-Lovers Unite in Over 350 Cities Across 6 Continents to View & Vote On the Finalists’ Films in the 21st Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival.
Filmgoers in Salida will unite with audiences in over 300 cities spanning six continents to view and judge the work of the next generation of filmmakers from around the world when the annual Manhattan Short Film Festival screens at the SteamPlant Theater. Attendees get to be an instant film critic when you receive a ballot upon entry that allows you to vote for the Best Film and Best Actor. Votes will be tallied through the Manhattan Short HQ with the winner announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday Oct 8, at 10:00AM EST.
The Final Nine films are screened simultaneously across the world during a one-week period (September 27 to October 7, 2018), with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified. Manhattan Short is the only event of its kind.
The Manhattan Short Final Nine are: Lacrimosa (Austria), Fauve (Canada), Someone (Germany), Chuchotage (Hungary), Her (Kosovo), Fire In Cardboard City (New Zealand), Baghead, (UK), Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times (UK), and Home Shopper (USA).
Tickets are $9.00. They are available at the SteamPlant Box Office and online here.
