December 14 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The Salida Council for the Arts (SCFTA) invites the public to attend the December Creative Mixer at the SteamPlant Paquette Gallery on Thursday December 14 from 5:30-7:00 pm featuring artist Paula Hudson and musician Megan Lombardo.
About the Featured Artist
From the artist:
“The show is a collection of expressionistic oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings of many subjects. They are products of my feelings about them, such as their sense of intimacy, grandeur, peace, intensity, pleasure, etc. These feelings are represented by a heightened focus on the use of value and color.
“We all have our own means of expression. I am a painter. Others are artists at helping others, at cooking, making herbal remedies, weaving, serving the community, poetry, and many, many more. Along with the many forms of expression there are myriad ways we choose to show our talents. I use color, composition, values, and other technical aspects of painting to convey the feelings and sights that impact me.
“I have been painting since I was 8 years old. I was born in Chicago and moved to Colorado in 1966. I am a Ph.D Speech Language Specialist and have done therapy with children and adults for 45 years. I guess I liked it. During that time, I taught at DU and CU and ran the speech/language program statewide for the state of Colorado.
“I have been in galleries and shows all during that time. Now I am a full-time painter and show in Denver and Crestone. I am presently searching for new markets, as well.”
