2017 Tri-Peaks League High School Art Show
The 25th Annual Tri-Peaks League Art Show is hosted this year by Janine Frazee, Salida High School’s Fine Arts Teacher.
The show is a juried art competition with seven schools in the league competing for ribbon awards. The art show consists of 10-14 pieces from each high school including both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.
The League Art Show is a highly competitive student art show showcasing the top artists from each school’s art program. If a high school student has a piece in the show it speaks volumes about the quality, creativity, idea, skill, technique and media of their artwork.
Schools participating this year are Manitou Springs High School, Fountain Valley High School, St. Mary’s Academy, Vanguard Classical School, James Irwin Charter School, Buena Vista High School, and Salida High School.
Mark Rittman from the Maverick Potter and Jessica Vogel from Art & Salvage will jury the show. They will award ribbons for First, Second, and Third Places in both 2D and 3D respectively as well as choose Best of Show and two Juror’s Choice awards. There will also be a People’s Choice award, which is voted on by those who come to view the show and the recipient will be awarded the ribbon at the closing of the show. All other artwork automatically receives Honorable Mention Ribbons.
Opening reception and presentation of awards: Friday, April 7, 4:00 pm-8:00 pm
Second Saturday reception: Saturday, April 8, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm
The Tri-Peaks Student Art Show will be displayed in the Paquette and Diesslin Galleries from April 7 to April 22.
